At CNS Media, we have an in-house team of highly skilled developers that can help make your vision a reality across iOS, Android and Windows.
Whether that be a native or hybrid app, we can help guide you in the right direction, getting exactly what you need.
Hybrid or Native
This is a question you will often get asked when enquiring about apps. Native apps are built for a specific platform and therefore won’t work on another. You can’t use a native iOS app on an android device, which is where hybrid apps come in. Hybrid apps can be built with CSS, JavaScript and HTML, just like Web apps and websites, meaning the development is simplified and can be completed a lot quicker, with the final app available through the App Store, the Play Store and can even be made available on Windows devices.
Pros of Hybrid Apps
As we are developing one mobile app that works on both iOS and Android platforms, we only have one codebase to build instead of two. This means that you’re only paying for half the number of developers that two native apps would require. Alternately, the same team of developers could complete the project twice as fast, so whether your priority is cost or time to market, it’s a win either way you look at it.
Hybrid apps are also much easier to update in the future if your business changes direction or starts using new software that you want to bring your app in line with. For example, if you swap out your CRM system then we only need to update one codebase.
From our experience, SME’s prefer the speed and cost of hybrid apps, allowing their businesses to bring a good idea to market before their competition.
How Long and How Much?
Uber wasn’t built in a day, and the time it takes to get your app right can depend on many factors. We’ll need to discuss with you the purpose of the app, the functionality you’ll require and integrations with current systems like MySQL, PayPal or CRM systems before we can supply you with even a rough quote or timescale for the project.
As a starting point, simple app projects are going to take a minimum of 3-4 months from sign off on the design and creative elements and will always cost thousands of pounds. It’s therefore important that we identify the potential return on investment before we start the project.
Don’t worry though, we are here to help with that, so what are you waiting for?
